Desccription
A Developers Dream
The main roads have already been put through (but not surfaced) with
laterals, ready to service many fantastic view home sites. Build
condominiums and a restaurant at the top and a hotel half way up,
with houses everywhere else, to get the greatest advantage. After
all that, there is still a significant amount of land for jungle
and park.
or
A Private Estate
If you want, the most exclusive Private Estate in Costa Rica, this
could be it. When the new highway is open, it will be an easy commute
to the Central Valley and the capital. The way the land raises above
the cliffs, with only a small access to guard, your privacy and security
will be greatly enhanced. The main estate house would be far above
the road and sea, with unrivalled ocean views and cooler breezes.
Nature
The scarlet Macaws and Frigate Birds fly overhead. The Macaws live
in Carara National Park and fly everyday to the ocean to feed. The
Frigate birds enjoy some of the best draft above the cliffs here,
and can usually be seen. Armadillos have been seen and humming birds
fly by. There is a vast field of Heliconias in one of the private
canyons. Even the views of the forest and mountains behind areinspiring.
Beach
The beach below along the Costanera, currently has half
a dozen little houses. They can't be seen from this property where the
buildings would be, yet, it is rumored that they will all be removed
(someday). The problem is that they have built within the protected marine
zone, and will have to be removed. When (if) that happens, this will
be beachfront property.
About Carara National Park
This is the northernmost region of Pacific rainforest
remaining in Costa Rica, and is the beginning of the transition zone
into the tropical dry forests of the northwest. Carara is one of
Costa Rica's most popular National Parks, in large part due to its
proximity to San José. This is also where many cruise ship's
passengers are bused for a day trip when the liners dock just up
the coast at Puerto Caldera, and a common destination for field trips
by school children. Birdwatchers are interested in the Carara National
Park area because it presents two life zones and a variety of birds,
including one of the largest remaining wild populations of Scarlet
Macaw in Costa Rica. The Carara National Park protects the river basin
of the Rio Grande de Tarcoles, near Orotina, Puntarenas, on the Pacific
Coast of Costa Rica. Primary and secondary rainforest, lakes, rivers
and waterfalls. Pre-columbian archaeological sites are scattered
throughout the area. Other nearby parks include Cacyra Wildlife Refuge,
Fernando Castro Blanco Wildlife Refuge and Finca Hacienda Avellana,
Costa Rica
Inhabitants of the park:
Animals- Opossum, two-toed sloth, agouti, armadillo, pacas,
great anteater, kinkajou, tayra, margay cat, collared peccary, white-tailed
deer, poison-arrow frogs, and the omnipresent monkeys.
Birds- Collared Aracari, Fiery-billed Aracari, American
Egret, Great Tinamou, Turkey vulture, Long-billed Gnatwren, Chestnut-backed
Antbird, Black-hooded Antshrike, Keel-billed Toucans, Anhinga,
Jacanas, Pied-billed Grebes, Mexican Tiger-bitterns and Boat-billed
Herons.
About the region:
The coastal highway crosses the Río Tárcoles
at the northern edge of the park. If you stop you can nearly always spot
crocodiles basking on the banks of the river from a safe vantage point
50 feet above them on the bridge.
CENTRAL PACIFIC BEACHES - North to South
Costa Rica’s Central Pacific has some of the most accessible
beaches in the country.
Punta Leona: A private
nature reserve and vacation resort with hotel rooms in different
categories, located on a beautiful white sand beach. Some of the
rooms are up to a 20 minute walk away from the center complex, but
there is the possibility of using a shuttle bus around the property.
Playa Herradura: The narrow, dark sanded bay of
Herradura has been one of the favorite beaches for Costa
Ricans. It has the beautiful Marriot Hotel and a marina.
Playa Jacó: About 2 1/2
miles long dark sand beach stretching in a long bay. At times,
dangerous currents do not allow swimming; there are warning
signals on the beach. The town of Jacó has good infrastructure
and is very lively with lots of restaurants, bars, discotheques
and souvenir shops.
Manuel Antonio National Park: Manuel
Antonio National Park with an extension of almost 1,800 acres
attracts the visitor with gorgeous hiking trails through
abundant, tropical jungle which borders white sand beaches
and turquoise waters. The evergreen fascinating forest is
the home of about 100 species of mammals and 180 kinds of
birds. A hiking trail through dense vegetation all around
the cape enables you to catch the beautiful sight of 12 smaller
islands just in front of it. A splendid combination of nature
experience and beach fun.
