the Pacific, the hotel enjoys a premier location in Montezuma. Getting
there by car: The drive from San José to Puntarenas takes about
two hours along the Panamerican road. In Puntarenas you take a ferry
to Paquera and from there it is a 1 ½ drive to Montezuma. Getting
there by air: It is possible to fly directly from San José to
Playa Tambor, leaving from the international airport, with Sansa or TravelAir
airlines.
Property Details:
Located in the famous Montezuma beach, in the south part
of Nicoya Peninsula and surrounded by National Parks and Natural Reserves,
the Hotel and Restaurant is a special opportunity to capture the tourism
in this extraordinary ecological area. It is a beautiful ensemble fully
integrated into the exuberant natural surroundings with its tasteful
design and decoration. This Hotel offers the tourist the possibility
to enjoy one of the most exotic environments of Costa Rica: the Cabo
Blanco National Park, known for its outstanding nature sights, the white
sand beaches, the beautiful waterfall of Montezuma, the primary and secondary
forest and a great variety of wildlife which includes three-toed sloths,
squirrels, monkeys and birds such as the White Ibis, the Green Kingfisher
and the Brown Pelican. The property of the hotel is the largest piece
of land in Montezuma, with the capacity to build 25 to 35 more bungalows.
The owner would have the advantage of the touristic market in Montezuma
because there is no more land available for such a project in the entire
area. Most of the other hotels in Montezuma are very small.
The rooms:
The hotel is right in front of the ocean and close to the pool. Enjoy
the refreshing breeze from the balconies sitting on a rocking chair.
On the ground floor, there are four big rooms for four persons; each
with one double bed and two single beds, private bathroom and hot
water. On the second floor, there are four double rooms with shared
bathroom and two more big rooms with own bathroom and hot water
The bungalows
The bungalows are scattered under the cool shadow of mango trees and
just in front of the ocean. Don't be surprised to see animals like:
monkeys, raccoons, squirrels, iguanas, tucans and more. The owner
has designed the bungalows to resemble the architecture found in
Bali, connected by walking roads; the buildings have an octagonal
structure, made of "Nazareno" wood with cathedral ceilings
and wide roofed porches. There is a double bed and a single one,
hot water, hammocks, rocking chairs and a fan.
Pool & Jacuzzi
Enjoy our scenic pool, a natural design in the middle of the tropical
garden. Relax in the Jacuzzi, cool off under the waterfall and get
a tan laying on comfortable deck chairs, with tables and beach umbrellas.
Yoga & Gym
Yoga classes are offered on a regular basis in the pavillion overlooking
the pool and the ocean. The wooden-floored pavillion is also available
for yoga retreats or workshops.
About Montezuma:
Montezuma, a former fishing village, is located 25 km south of Paquera
at the southwestern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. What brings everyone
here is the astounding beauty of the setting. Montezuma and the coast
south to Cabo Blanco features some of the loveliest coastline in
the country: white sand, dotted with jutting rocks and vertiginous,
leaning palms, and backed by lush greenery, including rare Pacific
lowland tropical forest. The village itself is surrounded by thickly
forested hills sliced through by the needle-thin cascades of waterfalls.
Views out into the Pacific are uninterrupted, and are especially
wonderful at night, when the occasional lightning storm illuminates
the horizon and silky waters. When in Montezuma, do visit the beautiful
Montezuma waterfalls just outside of town. Over 50 feet high, this
waterfall is a popular tourist attraction with many people jumping
into the shallow pool below.
8 km from Montezuma is the town of Cobano. Here you
can find the bank (Banco Nacional), the clinic for emergencies and
the pharmacy. The local airport to/from San Josè is in Playa
Tambor, 20 km from Montezuma. Just on the other side of the tip of
the Nicoya Peninsula is Mal Pais and the surf there can get much better.
Besides surfing, snorkeling along the reefs, boogie boarding and horseback
riding are a few of the popular activities here. Excursions & Sport,
All day boat excursion to Tortuga Island, Fishing trip, Diving and
Snorkeling, Surfing, Kayaking, Horse back riding, Motorbike for rent,
Bird watching, Quadrocyicle for rent, Mountain bikes.
